Agnes Sam’s writing career began in the late 1960s, with a series of children’s short stories published in The Sunday Times of Zambia. After being exiled from her native South Africa in 1973, she took up residence in the United Kingdom, where she has gone on to amass a considerable body of work comprising novels, plays, poems, short stories and essays.
